Maria Callas – Essential Maria Callas

180-Gram Vinyl Limited Gatefold Edition. Born in New York, the Greek-American soprano Maria Callas (1923-1977) was one of the most renowned and influential opera singers of the 20th century. Critics praised her bel canto technique, wide-ranging voice and dramatic interpretations. Her repertoire ranged from classical opera seria to the bel canto operas of Donizetti, Bellini and Rossini and further, to the works of Verdi and Puccini; and, in her early career, to the music dramas of Wagner. This LP puts together some of the best arias she ever recorded, including her perennial versions of the Habanera" from Carmen, "O mio babbino caro" from Gianni Schicchi, and "Casta diva" from Norma. 180-GRAM VIRGIN VINYL - SPECIAL GATEFOLD LIMITED EDITION"
