Coronary – M.A.D.ness

Vinyl LP pressing. Chicago hardcore freakazoids, Coronary, returns with their explosive new LP M. A. D. ness, following the release of their 2023 debut The Future is Now. Released just 16 months after their previous record, M. A. D. ness showcases a band that is relentlessly energized and agitated. Coronary is ramping up, delivering a ferocious sound that packs the aggression and urgency of hardcore while staying true to the raw, rebellious spirit of punk. With M. A. D. ness, Coronary cements their place as one of the most exciting upcoming bands in the modern hardcore scene. The 12 tracks on the album are fast, furious, and unapologetically in-your-face, each one crammed with blistering riffs and rhythms with vocals seething with anger. The band's distinctive blend of classic hardcore energy, thrashy undertones, and punk attitude creates a sound that feels both fiercely contemporary and old school at the same time. Coronary injects their music with a spirit of fun and irreverence that recalls the DIY ethos of punk rock. It's a reminder that, even when the world feels on the edge, hardcore is more enjoyable when it also has an edge. Lyrically, M. A. D. ness explores themes of societal disillusionment, personal alienation, and the volatility of modern life, all while avoiding the trap of being overly bleak or self-serious. Coronary taps into the anxiety of the times but balances it with an infectious energy that invites listeners to mosh, shout, and let loose. The band's unapologetic attitude and raw authenticity shine through in every note, making M. A. D. ness a must-listen for anyone who's hungry for hardcore that hits just as hard as it entertains. Whether you're in it for the riffs, the rebellion, or the unrelenting energy, M. A. D. ness is a record that leaves a mark, and shows that Coronary is a band ready to take on the future with both fists raised.
