Deliverance – Weapons of Our Warfare (35th Anniversary Edition)

Deliverance - Weapons of Our Warfare (35th Anniversary Edition).Released in 1990, Weapons of Our Warfare didn't just raise the bar-it was the bar. Now, 35 years later, this landmark album returns in a definitive edition that reclaims it's place as one of the most iconic and revered thrash records in the history of Christian metal-and beyond.Coming off the momentum of their self-titled debut, Deliverance sharpened their attack with a sound that rivaled the giants of the era. While Metallica was delivering Master of Puppets and Slayer unleashed Reign in Blood, Deliverance stood shoulder to shoulder with Weapons of Our Warfare-an album overflowing with fire, speed, and spiritual conviction. The arrival of guitarist George Ochoa (Recon) joined forces with frontman Jimmy P. Brown II to unleash a twin guitar assault of technical brilliance and blazing intensity. From the very first notes, Weapons... ignites with adrenaline-drenched compositions and a fierce sense of purpose. Songs like Slay the Wicked," "Solitude," "If We Faint Not," and the explosive title track showcase the band's ability to fuse complexity with clarity, and muscle with melody. Brown's guitar mastery and lyrical urgency drive the album, while Ochoa's shredding adds bite and brilliance. This 35th Anniversary Edition includes not only the full remastered album-meticulously enhanced by Rob Colwell to sound better than ever-but also a treasure trove of bonus material. For the first time, fans can hear the studio version of "Rescue," recorded for the original album but left unreleased until now. In addition, the release features eight crushing tracks from the original Weapons demo sessions, capturing the raw power of a band forging it's legacy. The cultural impact of Weapons of Our Warfare was undeniable. The video for the title track made history as the first Christian metal song to air on MTV, spending twelve weeks in the Top 3 of Headbanger's Ball. Years later, Metallica's Lars Ulrich would name it one of his Top 10 metal videos of all time-a moment of validation from the heart of the mainstream metal world.Still ranked among the greatest metal albums of it's time, Weapons of Our Warfare has earned it's place on countless best-of lists, including a Top 3 finish on Christian Metal Realm's 100 Greatest Albums and a Top 20 spot on Angelic Warlord's 1990s ranking. More importantly, it remains a vital, visceral listen-sounding just as urgent and uncompromising now as it did in 1990.Thirty-five years later, Weapons of Our Warfare still rages with purpose, passion, and precision. This is more than a reissue. This is a celebration of legacy. A restoration of power. And a reminder that great metal doesn't fade-it gets sharper with time."
