Earth Crisis – Neutralize the Threat (15th Anniversary)

Formed in Syracuse, New York in 1989, Earth Crisis became one of the most influential forces in metallic hardcore - inspiring an entire generation of bands including Hatebreed and Terror. After their highly anticipated 2008 reunion and the crushing return-to-form To The Death (2009), the band proved they were back with a vengeance. Then came Neutralize The Threat.Originally released in 2011, the album stands as one of the most angst-ridden and unrelenting statements in the band's already legendary catalog. From the blistering opener Raise to the pulverizing title track, to mosh-igniting anthems like Total War and the groove-driven bruiser Askari, this record delivers metallic hardcore at it's most focused and ferocious. The riffs are sharp and crossover-thrash fueled - at times jagged and pulverizing, at times crushingly methodical. The rhythm section of Ian Edwards and Dennis Merrick provides a relentless percussive backbone, while guitarists Scott Crouse and Erick Edwards unleash wave after wave of sonic assault. Frontman Karl Buechner's commanding vocal range and depth cut through with authority, reminding everyone why he remains one of the most recognizable voices in hardcore.Neutralize The Threat doesn't reinvent the wheel - it reinforces it with steel. It's direct. It's punishing. It's built for stage domination and pit movement. A wake-up call record that silenced doubters and reaffirmed Earth Crisis as a defining force in heavy music. Now, Brutal Planet Records celebrates this modern hardcore classic with the 15th Anniversary Edition, remastered specifically for vinyl by guitarist Scott Crouse, and pressed on striking Orange Crush Vinyl, strictly limited to just 300 units worldwide.Hardcore history - properly honored. For fans of Hatebreed / Terror / Biohazard / Sick Of It All / Agnostic Front / Slayer / Cro-Mags
