Glenn Hughes – Building The Machine

Released in 2001, Building The Machine finds Glenn Hughes refining his fusion of hard rock and funk with a tighter, riff- driven approach. His signature vocal power is front and center, delivering soulful intensity across a set of muscular, groove-laden tracks. Longtime collaborator JJ Marsh provides fiery guitar work, while drummer Gary Ferguson anchors the sound with precision and punch. The album includes guest appearances by Pat Travers and Bobby Kimball, adding depth and variety to the arrangements. Hughes balances raw energy with melodic sophistication, offering both heavy rockers and introspective moments. The production is crisp and direct, emphasizing live-band dynamics over studio Polish. Building The Machine continues Hughes' evolution as a solo artist, blending his classic influences with modern edge. Ideal for fans of Deep Purple, Trapeze, and guitar-driven rock with soul. A standout in his catalog, this release captures the essence of The Voice of Rock" in full command. Whether rediscovered or heard anew, it's a bold and confident statement of artistic identity."
