Matt Jalbert – Sauce Buffet

'Sauce Buffet' is the debut solo album by Matt Jalbert, best recognized as the guitarist for progressive jamband TAUK. With this release, Jalbert steps confidently into the spotlight, channeling a hypnotic blend of psychedelic textures, deep-pocket funk, and jazz-inflected guitar work. The album evokes the exploratory energy of acts like Glass Beams, Khruangbin, and Polyrhythmics, while putting Jalbert's own distinctive guitar voice front and center. It's a mood-forward instrumental album that invites listeners on a cerebral, groove-laced journey. Known for his intricate fretwork and improvisational instincts with TAUK, 'Sauce Buffet' showcases a more cinematic, genre-fluid side-effortlessly bridging modern jazz-funk with psychedelic rock. The album previews a bold new chapter for the Denver-based guitarist.
