Wes Montgomery – Bumpin' (Verve Acoustic Sounds Series)

Wes Montgomery's first album to reach the Billboard charts, Bumpin' showcases his exceptional command of the guitar with the support of an orchestra arranged and conducted by Don Sebesky. The rhythm section of Roger Kellaway (piano), Bob Cranshaw (bass) and Grady Tate (drums) add fire to and drive the orchestra. With a top-notch selection of compositions from Dizzy Gillespie, Johnny Mandel, John Francis Burke, and Montgomery himself, Bumpin' takes the listener on a majestic journey each time it spins. Verve Acoustic Sounds Series features transfers from analog tapes and remastered 180-gram vinyl in deluxe gatefold packaging.
