Six Feet Under – Graveyard Classics

When Six Feet Under unleashed Graveyard Classics in 2000, it wasn't just another covers album-it was a brutal love letter to the bands that shaped heavy music. Led by the unmistakable growl of Chris Barnes (Cannibal Corpse), the band took a collection of legendary songs from metal, punk, and hard rock's formative years and dragged them straight into the swampy, groove-laden world of death metal. The result is a record that both honors the originals and completely transforms them. From the opening Savatage classic Holocaust to the ferocious stomp of AC/DC's TNT, Six Feet Under wastes no time putting their own grim signature on these iconic tracks. The band dives headfirst into the dark side of metal history, tearing through Black Sabbath's Sweet Leaf, Venom's In League With Satan, Angel Witch's Confused, and Exodus' thrash classic Piranha. Along the way, they prove their range by tackling unexpected territory-from the punk rebellion of Dead Kennedys' California Über Alles and Sex Pistols' Stepping Stone, to hard rock landmarks like Deep Purple's Smoke on the Water and Scorpions' Blackout. Even Jimi Hendrix's Purple Haze gets the full Six Feet Under treatment, dripping with downtuned riffs and Barnes' unmistakable vocal snarl. Now, more than two decades later, Graveyard Classics 1 finally receives it's first-ever worldwide retail vinyl release. Pressed on Bloody Gold Vinyl and mastered specifically for vinyl by Badland Recordings, this Brutal Planet Records edition brings new life to one of the most entertaining and unique releases in the Six Feet Under catalog. This collector's edition also includes a previously unreleased bonus track-a crushing version of Judas Priest's Grinder. Packaged in a traditional LP jacket with a 12x12 full-color lyrics insert, this release is part of Brutal Planet's Metal Icon Series and is strictly limited to just 500 copies worldwide. For fans of Cannibal Corpse, Obituary, Jungle Rot, and Bolt Thrower, Graveyard Classics 1 stands as a reminder that the roots of heavy music run deep-and sometimes the best way to honor them is to make them even heavier. For fans of: Cannibal Corpse, Obituary, Jungle Rot, Bolt Thrower!
