Zero Sen – Sunrise

A critically acclaimed audio component test record that transcends time and genre. Drop the needle and unleash the fateful groove etched into it's grooves. Thediscovery of this record, originally produced for audio component testing, can be considered one of the greatest achievements brought about by the rare groove movement. The genius Ishida Katsunori, who would later become a producer/composer/arranger working on numerous television and film scores, brought together up-and-coming musicians such as Murakami Ponta Shuichi, Okazawa Akira, Masuda Mikio, Omura Kenji, and Tantan to weave together a tight and refined sound. The grooves, such as Cool Head and Son Of Pin Head, are exquisite, sometimes heavy like a hammer striking down, and sometimes thrilling like a surging torrent. Now, due to it's high level of perfection and presence, it is a masterpiece that is highly regarded across genres.Text by Ogawa Yusuke (universounds / Deep Jazz Reality)
